ULM Track

New Music - Ulm on IPSO

What an excellent start to 2022 with the 2nd Kölsch and Dubfire collaboration released on IPSO  January 14, 2022, with the amazing “ULM” and is a real banging anthem.  With the legendary swooshes, deep drum beats and different sounds and textures of noises at all angles is quite different and adds so many different layers of sounds in a random but in placed the right way.  Over 7 minutes of a quality track.

Also the first track of my Tracks for 2022 Spotify Playlist 🙂

40 million Streams on Spotify

Next up is a true WOW moment and 40 million streams of the amazing “Grey” track on Spotify

In the words of Kölsch

“For the longest time, I had been dreaming about combining horns and techno music.
The energy of brass and a kick has always been fascinating to me.

In the early 2000’s I wrote Calabria with the signature sax riff, but the idea of making a piece with a deep horn section still lingered in the back of my mind.

Inspired by Simon Says by Pharaoh Monch, I finally managed to make a demo work in late 2015.

None of this could have happened without your continuous support.

This is all thanks to your dedication and passion”

#kolschofficial

Here is a link to both versions of the track to get up to 50 -> 100 million streams. Also, in case you was thinking what is “Simon Says by Pharaoh Monch” here a link (However it has explicit lyrics, so I have linked to the instrumental version)

Social Updates

Some amazing Twitter and Instagram replies and likes 😊 I wanted to share

First off was when listening to the radio streams it inspired me to dig out some tunes that need a reply.

Finally, was a like for my new album covers I have place up in the man cave / studio of the 12” Album covers.  I am so pleased how they look like real pieces of art.  I hope to do the same with the CD versions as well.

Website Search

Also, the website hits seem to be doing well on the search engines.

From a search of “DJ Kolsch” I seem to be getting the following results and some excellent hits rates thanks to you the fans of Kölsch stopping by to read the blog posts.

We are on page 2 on a Google Search, result 4 on page 1 on Bing Search, result 3 on page 1 Yahoo search and finally the top non-paid advert on DuckDuckGO.

So, a massive thank you from me as a Kölsch fan and admin and I hope to keep the site running for many years to come.

Interview with Kölsch

I also found this interview uploaded on YouTube as well I thought I would share (not all in English but well worth a listen).
So, kudos to the uploader.  It was excellent to listen to while writing this blog update for 2022!I learned some new things as well in this interview including how Kölsch become Kölsch!  Also, this interview, has inspired this new section as well called

Classic rewind from the back catalogue

So, this section was for me to start to discover some of Rune’s back catalogue
This time is the track from Ink and Needle (Seven / Eight)

I managed to track down a copy on eBay to purchase as I want to start building a back catalogue of all of Runes work however, I have had little success other than a beatport link if you want to check it out via a purchase and experience this track as well.

https://www.beatport.com/release/seven-eight/53319

Also here is a retro screenshots of Tattoorec.com for fun from the wayback machine.

Finally here is the text from the Beatport profile for Ink and Needle.

“Ink and Needle With the great success of their tattoorec.com series, the two Copenhagen artists, struggle to keep their identity hidden. During their gigs all over Europe, they have been wearing their signature hockey masks. The idea is to let the music speak, and not them. This concept has somewhat backfired since everybody wants to know who they are. Identity aside, the shows have been received extremely well. The pairing of deep emotional techno with strong roots in Detroit and Chicago, with live electronic percussion, has proven a successful formula. The list of supporters is long, and considering the fact, that the duo has only released 10 tracks, the list speaks for itself (see below). Tattoo the concept Tattoorec is a label with a very simple concept. The tracks released don’t have titles – they have tattoos. Tattoos are the ultimate dedication of love. Whether it’s a name, a symbol or a number, tattoos are there because they are important to the owner. They don’t have to be beautiful or elegant, and they don’t have a meaning to anyone but the owner. Some people seek acceptance and follow the mainstream with their body art. Some people push the limit and reinvent what a tattoo can be. Some people stay true and go old school with their tattoos. That’s why tattoos and music are so alike. These tracks are a part of us. We have created them with our hearts. They might fade and turn green over the years, but we will always remember them. Hopefully so will you 🙂 Supporters so far; ewan person, john digweed, dj sasha, sven väth, ricardo vilalobos, luciano, roger sanchez, ivan smagghe, jerome sydenham, richie hawtin, mark romboy, trentemøller, italoboyz, stephan bodzin, gregor tresher, mark knight, satoshi fumi, pheek, loco dice.”

Well here to another year 2022 let’s hope it is a good one and we can get to the dance floor again!

Keep safe

John
