New Music

What an exciting month of July we have had the release of the amazing Tiga & Kölsch Collaboration EP on Turbo Recordings – Hand In Hand.  With two killer tracks and one club remix.

However, before we got to hear all three tracks we was teased to just get the track Hand In Hand first and had to wait until the 7th July for “Almost Everything” and the Club Mix. WOW that was hard!

First track up is “Hand In Hand” the same name as this double AA side release EP.

This track has amazing double drum beat with a slow but growing sounds and layers of rolling whooshing noises with tapping of electronic notes. Which lead into drops of that heavy beat almost tribal in sound to make you dance, then over laid with the right amount for vocals to elevate this track.  I have played this track out as my closing song as it seems to fit perfectly.

Next up is “Almost Everything” this track is just outstanding, next level outstanding; this is “HAL” beating quality and don’t get me wrong “HAL” is one of the best tracks ever. FACT!  This is pure masters at work, perfection in a collaboration of a track.  The vocal sounds that almost are not vocals are amazing and the pauses before to the rhythm and beat are EPIC.  This could NEVER be a B-Side! This was at the top of my “progress-report” release list.

Finally, is the club mix of “Hand In Hand” which turns up the feeling of faster techno bassline but still captures the essence of the original mix and all ways but doesn’t quite top it.

So glad this has been released and purchased for my collection.  However, as I always say I am hoping for a vinyl release. Fingers Crossed!

Many thanks to Tiga & Kölsch for this collaboration and I hope for many, many more collaborations in the future.

Bandcamp Bio for Hand In Hand

Following the fevered reception of their 2018 single “HAL,” the union between main stage lovemaker Kölsch and techno iceman Tiga has returned with “Hand in Hand,” a rapturous exercise in sacral catharsis that many are calling the ultimate set closer.

Emboldened to use his natural speaking voice for the first time on the title track, Tiga is eager to open up about this sentimental departure from his usual fare: “When it comes down to it, I’m an emotional frogman, When I hear a beating heart, I dive right in heart-first.”

Meanwhile, B-side John the Editor here “Sorry Double AA Side” “Almost Everything” takes the vibe into Kölsch’s signature indescribable euphoric heights. So indescribable in fact that we had to ask BO, Turbo’s proprietary AI and Metadata Scraper, to analyze the track based on tempo, emotional valence, and “fun factor”. His conclusion: “Total banger.” Thanks, BO!

The release is rounded out by two remixes of “Hand in Hand,” one a bout of peak-time insanity from Irish underground icon Rebuke and the other an immaculate techno odyssey from Montreal hinterground luminary Priori.

Reflecting on just what he’s achieved here with his Danish friend Kölsch, Tiga is characteristically thoughtful: “Would you rather have a gun in your hand, or a hand in your hand? If you even have to think about the answer, you need to open your heart ASAFP because nothing less than the future of love and music hangs in the balance. It’s entirely up to you.

Merchandise (T-Shirts and Hats)

So, if you head over to https://Kölschofficial.com there is a new web shop selling three new t-shirts and three different coloured hats.

T-Shirts

The three t-shirts are based on the three original album dates 1977, 1983 and 1989 even down to the font and colours. There are currently 3x sizes (Med, Large & X-Large)

I have ordered my three t-shirts tonight as my Birthday present!  I will post the pictures once I have received them.

Also, so we don’t forget how amazing these albums are here the Spotify links.  To listen to and enjoy!

Hats

Also, there is three hats in three different colours, black, blue, and grey known as the Kölsch wide brim Fedora hat.

These look super cool, and I think if I was to choose one, I think I would go with the blue one.  My budget this month doesn’t quite stretch that far ☹ but I am looking to save for one as I think it would look amazing on display in my little studio.

Shows

Also on the official site is a current list of world shows and tickets as well.  Super handy for following where Kölsch will be playing hopefully local to you.

So, there you have it another month of July! Next month is August and our 3rd Birthday for the Kölsch Fan Site.  3 Years strong following an amazing artist, producer, and DJ!

Here to many more years, keep safe, keep raving and feel free to reach out to me at the site anytime!

Many thanks

John
