2023 What a year!
Sorry for the lack of an update last month time has gotten away from me due to a super busy time in my personal life (all good family time and hard work to pursue some dreams for us all). However, I have just managed to find some time to reflect on the year and some amazing music and sets by Kölsch and some other stand out artists I think need a shout out.
Let’s start at the beginning I guess with release of Environ & Cold Air on Kompakt’s Speicher 128 – My most listened to tracks of 2023 according to Spoitfy’s wrap up.
Then the collaborations come rolling in
Top of my list was the EPIC collaboration of Kölsch and Tiga with “Almost Everything” & “Hand In Hand” with a number of excellent remixes as well from the likes of Rebuke & Priori.
Finally, after what seemed years waiting for a release, we finally got “Masterplan” released from Kölsch & Kevin de Vries – what an excellent tune. True masterclass of a track on IPSO.
Next up with another IPSO release was “Looking Glass & Full Circle Moment” – Kölsch and Tim Engelhardt. Some quality banging tracks.
Then a track I think has slipped a little under the radar is the track “Colossus” a collab with CamelPhat on their new album and well worth a listen.
Then come along the total outstanding remixes with “Pay My Debts” by Beacon – OUTSTANDING quality track -perfect duo and Together Alone ‘I have you’ – Kölsch Remix by Pale Blue – one of my best vinyl purchases of the year another classic remix.
Also, the other way round was the ARTBAT remix of “All That Matters” which was a brilliant take on one of Kölsch’s most famous and recognised tracks.
Then to top off all that amazing music above is Kölsch’s 5th Kompakt Released Studio Album. With my track of the year on there. “An Amazing” and a close 2nd with “Only Get Better”. The album is a perfect sign of a true master learning the art of producing amazing music. I am 100% sure his father would be honoured and proud of this album and to be a part of it.
2023 has been another great year for Music and like each year I place my favourite tracks into a Spotify Tracks of 2023 playlist to share. Not always in order but close
Can I jut say that some totally outstanding tracks for me and are worthy of a shout are the excellent
Rex the Dog – with “Change this Pain for Ecstasy” & “Moto” and his latest track “Your Wish is My Command” have been totally amazing sounds and even earned a Pete Tong Essential new tune

Another track for me of 2023 is again by Tiga this time with Hudson Mohawke & Jesse Boykins III – with “Silence of Love” and has had some BIG LOVE on BBC 6Music as well.

This has to be my 2nd favourite set of the year (after Creamfields South) and my top 3 outstanding tracks

I have been listening to this so much since its release amazing set.

Radio Studio Brussels - Album Release Set (I got a shoutout)
Kölsch was on the take over again playing new tracks from his new album as well as some tracks that didn’t make it and some of Kölsch favourite tracks of the year. This was an excellent show and love hearing about how the tracks of the album get their names I think it makes the song take on a different sound if you here the back story I personally feel.
I even got a shout out on the show 😊 thank you – here is a clip of that.

Flashback Time
So, as I am going through Spotify, I thought it might be great to visit some of Rune’s early music and I listened to the “Sleep Less Live Move” Album by artificial funk. This is a great album with some excellent tracks – the standout track for me was “Smile to the Future”
