Beams London – The Show

Well, what an epic event and so worth the journey across London.

I used the DLR to get there and was just a 10-minute walk to the venue, there was lots of security on the route and a huge queue of people ready to go raving.  It was a great atmosphere on the walk down to the venue.  Once there I handed over my ticket, grabbed a stamp on my hand and went through to security nice and easy.  (Nice to have friendly security it helps keep a good mood with the crowd!)

Once in had to get the I am here photo, I then had a walk around and it is a nice and vast outdoor area with great food and drink areas, lots of places to sit and get free drinking water.  After a walk about, I visited each of the spaces to enjoy the music, dancing away and there was some great DJ’s and music.  Then I grab some food to eat, and I think it wasn’t badly priced compared to some places and was good as well.  Then I headed to Space 1 for Stephen Bodzin (LIVE) it was an amazing atmosphere in there and was a great sound system and good lighting.  I was at the back for Stephen’s show as I love to have room to dance and not get to hot.  Also, a shout out to the friendly people at the event giving each other nods and “you all rights” including the staff, and it makes it so much nicer place to be.

One quick break for me then it was time for the main event.  I knew I was never going to get to the front of the stage and often I don’t try as it too busy and I like to dance, so I often go to the side of stages as you get to see everyone at the front enjoying themselves, I am still close to the speakers and often some great space to dance and throw my hands and feet around.

Now for the main event, well I have to say this set did not disappoint at all.  A whole 2 hours of banging tracks.  Stand out tracks for me that I remember are.  (I must admit I hardly took any photos or soundbites to remember tracks as I was so in the groove as they say. There was more tracks then listed below, just I can’t remember them all writing the blog today)

  • Dale – Dubesque – Based on Moby’s GO – One of the tracks of 2022!
  • Dance with Me – (Kölsch Remix) of Kevin de Vries – banging track
  • Mind Dimension (Kölsch Remix) of Tiga’s out their track.
  • Loreley (Kölsch Classic) and Butch (Kölsch Remix) of Countach
  • London Grammar (Kölsch Remix) – Hell to the Liars
  • Der Alte and a few tracks with Soul 2 Soul & Technotronic Vocals over the top (Epic)
  • Also, the remix of All the Matters! – Amazing spin on the classic
  • There was also several Track ID’s, however 2 stood out for me. The first one was the track before Loreley – That is next level EPIC that is getting close Woohman territory of a track. It MUST please be released!
  • Also, one track from the end is another Track ID that is amazing to hear again from other sets, again gets my vote for a release.
  • Finally, what a track to end on – It’s my life remix. I could even see the sound engineer next to me, loving this ending to a show and was high 5 time.

2 hours of amazing music.  Also, again another shout out to the great staff handing out free water to the crowd and being friendly too.

So, then it 10:30pm the lights come up what an event!  I was super lucky as the amazing lady on the stage must have spotted the t-shirt and pointed me out in the huge crowd to Rune and he come over to say hello.  What a total legend! We shook hands, we had a chat about the music, my t-shirt and I said about how great the set was and the 2x track ID’s.  Finally, I grabbed a couple of selfies (apologies for my look it was hot, and I was sweating) dancing like a madman.  A few others grab selfies to.  Then it was the end of an epic day /night.

Had a short walk back to the DLR with a huge crowd of people and back to the car. (2-hour drive back home) with of course my long car journey music download ready (10-hour Kölsch set of course) and got home just after 1am.

So, would I go back to beams London, yes, I would it was a great venue, clean, safe and a great sound and light system.  Well worth it!

Keep safe, keep raving until next time.
