New Remix Alert: Vintage Culture - Too Far Down the Trap (Kölsch Remix)

As we dive into October, there’s no better way to kick off the season than with a killer remix by the legendary Kölsch, who has given Vintage Culture’s track Too Far Down the Trap a vibrant new spin.

Vintage Culture has been on a roll, dropping consistently high-quality tracks over the last few years, and Too Far Down the Trap is no exception.

The Remix Breakdown

Kölsch is known for his melodic and emotive approach to techno, often weaving in atmospheric layers that take listeners on a journey. In this remix, he brings his unique sound into the mix, transforming the original track into something more expansive, yet still pulsating with the energy that Vintage Culture fans love.

Why This Remix Works

Vintage Culture and Kölsch are two artists with different yet complementary styles. Where Vintage Culture excels at creating dancefloor-ready anthems, Kölsch adds an element of introspection and narrative. The result is a track that not only makes you want to move but also makes you feel. Kölsch’s rework enhances the emotional core of Too Far Down the Trap without losing the essence of Vintage Culture’s original vision.

Final Thoughts

If you’re into melodic techno or deep house, this remix should definitely be on your radar. It’s the perfect soundtrack for transitioning into the darker, moodier days of autumn while still keeping the energy high. Kölsch’s remix of Too Far Down the Trap is a great vibe, bringing out the best of both artists and creating a track that’s bound to be a staple in sets for months to come.

Make sure to check it out on Spotify, and let the music take you far down the trap.

Kölsch on the Not a Diving Podcast by Scuba: A Must-Listen for Electronic Music Lovers

Scrolling through Instagram, I stumbled upon a gem on Kölsch’s feed — a podcast episode that he appeared on for Scuba’s Not a Diving podcast. Naturally, being a huge fan, biggest fan of Kölsch and intrigued by the podcast’s premise, I had to give it a listen. And I’m so glad I did!

For those unfamiliar, Not a Diving Podcast is hosted by Scuba (aka Paul Rose), a multi-talented musician, DJ, and A&R who dives deep into conversations with significant figures from the electronic music world. The podcast covers a wide range of topics, from personal experiences to navigating the ever-evolving music industry. It’s a mix of observations, advice, and insightful stories from people who have made their mark in electronic music.

Kölsch: A Deep Dive into His Journey

The episode with Kölsch (Rune Reilly Kölsch) is an absolute treat. Over the span of about an hour and a half, Rune opens up about his journey through the music industry — from playing in small clubs to headlining festivals and everything in between. He touches on some important topics like:

  • The Evolution of the Scene: Rune discusses the shifts in the electronic music scene over the years, including how festivals and underground clubs have evolved and the role they play in supporting local talent.
  • Community and Connection: There’s a real emphasis on the sense of community that electronic music can foster. Rune reflects on how vital these relationships are for artists to thrive, sharing stories about collaboration, networking, and staying grounded amidst the chaos of the industry.
  • Creative Process and Challenges: He also dives into the challenges and joys of being a creator, discussing how he balances his artistic vision with the pressures of the industry and audience expectations. There’s something deeply inspiring about hearing someone of Rune’s calibre talk about his creative process and his genuine love for music.

The entire conversation is so raw and authentic. It feels less like a formal interview and more like two friends chatting about the highs and lows of their careers.  It is real people with incredible stories, dedication, and passion for what they do.

High-Quality and Professional Podcasting

The production quality of Not a Diving is top-notch. Scuba’s approach as a host is incredibly thoughtful. He’s a natural conversationalist, making the podcast feel relaxed yet highly engaging. Each episode flows smoothly, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into the questions and topics covered. You can tell Scuba is genuinely interested in his guests’ stories and insights, which makes each episode feel special.

After listening to the Kölsch episode, I’m officially hooked. This podcast has a wealth of content for anyone who loves electronic music or is curious about the inner workings of the industry. I’ve already subscribed, and I’ll definitely be going through the archives to check out more episodes.

Next on my playlist? The interview with Steve Davis, a six-time world snooker champion turned DJ. Now, this one promises to be an interesting crossover of worlds! I can’t wait to hear his thoughts on transitioning from a career in sports to one in music. Given how well Scuba handled the Kölsch interview, I know the conversation with Davis will be just as insightful.

Final Thoughts: Will Kölsch Release an Autobiography?

Listening to Rune on this podcast made me realize just how many stories he must have from his time in the industry. I’d absolutely love to see him release an autobiography someday. I can only imagine the depth and richness of the tales he could share — from navigating the early days of his career to becoming a globally recognized DJ and producer. (even being on Masterchef!)

I’m crossing my fingers that the moon and stars will align so I can make it there, as and I’m already getting excited thinking about the energy in the room, the lights, the crowd, and, of course, the music.
