One week on from listening

The new album has landed and I think it is outstanding, different and has a real mix and a feel of a new direction.

So within minutes of the release I spun up Spotify and got the speakers turned up and listened to the whole album from beginning to end and jotted down my first thoughts and that of listening to the album over a very busy weekend, on things such as long car journeys and dog walks and all that I am sharing here today one week one from release.

Track 1 – Waste My Time

So the first track is the amazing collaboration with CamelPhat with “Waste My Time” and this track is a worthy opening track to any album.

Track 2 – Nacht Und Träume (Night and Dreams)

This opera inspired track has a vocal that has a hypnotic vibe and reminds me of being on a train at night travelling in winter and it’s cold and raining.  This was close to being my favourite track on the album however

Track 3 – Kinema (Same name as the album) has taken that title.  This is the hardest sound of all the tracks on the album and has some excellent electro sounds, buzzes, kicks and drums and hearing loud is a classic track that I hope to hear in many, many LIVE sets.  This is the track I would play most in my own DJ sets.

Track 4 – Home

This track has a real summer vibe and for me has a throwback feel to something like “complicated” which was an unreleased track made with MK during lockdown for BBC Radio 1.

Track 5 – All the Matters – Symphony of Unity – Strings reimagined

It’s great to be able to relive this track from first hearing it at Tomorrowland and their symphony of unity to and a reimagined version of the song and it still keeps the essence of the original track with the vocals from Troels Abrahamsen.  This is a perfect album journey track and is a stamp in history to hear this version.

Track 6 – All The Words

This track reminds me of “musical and theater dance” that my daughter does at dance school and I could imagine her dancing to something like this on stage with the vocals in the slow parts and the beats speeding everything up.  I like this track a lot and it has an amazing sound.

Track 7 – All Week

This track is the second single release from the album, also my favourite single release of the year, it is so different and stands out as a track, feet tapping goodness this track and again a worthy addition to this album.

Track 8 – Sad Make Me Happy (feat Bonn)

This track has the feel very much of now in the moment and a sound of the 2025 season and feels like it has influence in the style from others producers out there making big tracks like CamelPhat and Eric Prydz.

Track 9 – Smile

This has been my track over the last week that has grown on me more than any other track and have had on repeat now more than any other track. It reminds me of early 90’s house music in a very, very good way.  This track is making me smile as I am listening and typing this out.

Track 10 – Hands of mine

This track feels like an extension to the “Talk to water” album with its style and very much in keeping with a new style and other side of Kölsch’s music that has a mellow feel with depth.

So this is a total 45 minutes of excellence and a great journey into the evolution of music.  This album is on my current playlist and I am enjoying it so much.  It has even made me go back and revisit some older styles of music from the influence.

If you haven’t heard it yet, give the whole album a full listen from end to end more than once as it will feel different over time.

Also this new album is released alongside the amazing Kölsch and the Machine tour 2025

Looking at this machine looks amazing, not that I understand in any shape or form, it looks so cool.  I can’t wait to hear this and what & how this changes the music, sound and experience of a set.  It seems exciting to see a new dimension to the creation of music.

Tomorrowland Brazil 2026

The set is now up on YouTube to experience again

This is a great watch and listen which includes classics, new tracks, some IDs and of course new album tracks but the crazy track ID from 49 minutes into the set is uplifted in true Tomorrowland style with drummers and people dancing for a real performance.  Love IT!

Well worth a listen!

I hope you enjoyed the update. I have enjoyed the music and am excited for the next phases and into 2026.

So keep safe, keep raving until the next update
